Michael Lofthus

As founder and principal of Retail Detail, Michael Lofthus brings thirty-five years of experience in wholesale, retail, sales and management to the challenges of today’s customer-driven economy. A passionate professional, Lofthus leads businesses toward their growth initiatives by implementing creative solutions that balance what he calls, “the art and science of retail.” His innovative approach unifies companies, and inspires owners by infinitely improving their daily operations thus allowing greater profitability.

Prior to joining Management-One, Lofthus owned and operated a successful specialty retail store featuring outdoor clothing, luggage and travel accessories on Montana Avenue in Santa Monica. His years as a salesman, buyer and manager for Broyhill and Nordstrom’s brought him a host of prestigious industry accolades.

A native of Washington, Lofthus has traveled extensively in Europe, Canada, South America and Russia on fly-fishing expeditions and outdoor adventure trips. His travels continually fill him with wonder, and his interactions with people sustain his connection to the adventure of everyday life.

Michael Lofthus makes his home in Los Angeles with his wife Marie and their four-legged friend, Chauncy.
